The Fubon TWSE Corporate Governance 100 ETF is recognized in the categories of Best-In-Class Taiwanese ESG ETF and Responsible Investing ETF.

The underlying benchmark of the ETF is the TWSE Corporate Governance 100 Index launched in 2015, which has been designed to encourage best practices in corporate governance and promote ESG and responsible investing themes to investors and corporates.

The Index is compiled by the Taiwan Stock Exchange each April. Together with its dedicated corporate governance center, they have developed a rigorous approach to measuring and promoting corporate governance excellence. As such, constituents are selected from companies that score in the top 20% of its Corporate Governance Evaluation System and pass liquidity and financial health screens such as profitability and revenue growth.

Corporate governance is assessed across four key areas: protecting shareholders' rights and interests and equally treating shareholders, strengthening the board's structure and operation, enhancing information transparency, and fulfilling corporate social responsibilities. Companies are also required to produce CSR Reports, which include reporting on the implementation of ESG.

We commend Fubon for its pioneering work in designing a passive product driven by robust underlying quantitative factors around governance, ESG, and sustainable performance that investors can readily access.

The instrument has low entrance costs, with a bid-offer spread of less than 0.25% and good tracking of R^2 of greater than 85%. It has delivered absolute solid performance since launch, and in the year to June 2020, assets under management near double to 6.72 bn TWD.

This ETF has been reviewed by three industry veterans of the Benchmark judging committee.
