Launched in 2017, the KGI Hospital & Dependency Related Industries Fund is an innovative thematic Fund investing primarily in global equities related to hospitals and long-term, care-related industries and seeks stable income and long-term appreciation. 

The strategy can be broken down into sub-themes that include long-term care institutions, treatment equipment, medical equipment, and other related information and financial services.  The investment method is fundamental-driven, whereby companies are screened against growth, cash flow, and balance sheet strength.  

In its relatively short history, the investment team has been stable, and the performance against more established peers has been impressive.  We note there is no penalty to the portfolio manager if the investment style deviates, which appears inconsistent with the highly-specific, thematic Fund mandate. 

ESG impact is considered for all investments. According to cited examples, the company is a signatory to one or more governance principles and has increased weighting of securities to core holdings following positive engagement activities with an investee company.   The company's voting disclosure is available to all investors, from retail to institutional investors. The company will actively disclose it on the website or accessible public network. Only when investors request disclosure, the company will disclose their votes and reasons.

Since the fund's inception in 2017, its USD-denominated performance has reached 47.03%, and the IRR is nearly 14%, which is a remarkable achievement!!
